Oftentimes getting the neccesary data organised is its own separate task (from the dashboard or report-building).

I automate data tranfer and organisation using R and have a preference for GCP’s BigQuery as the database (but have experience with others).

Sometimes the simple retrieval of data from various systems can be tricky. If interacting with their API’s is required, I’m quite capable of coding something up that will take care of this on a regular basis. However, it’s always easier if one of the “data movement” apps (like FiveTran or StitchData) can take care of this for us.
